Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court directed the immediate eviction of the tenant, Anderson Wright & Co., from the premises at 7, Red Cross Place, Kolkata, due to non-compliance with a prior order dated November 04, 2009, which granted the tenant nine months to vacate. The Court dismissed the review petition filed by the tenant on March 25, 2010, and found the tenant in contempt for failing to vacate the premises as ordered. The Court held that police force should be utilized for the eviction, thereby enforcing compliance with its earlier directive.
