Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the High Court rejecting the writ petition concerning land ownership under Section 229-B of the U.P. Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act. The Court established that the plaintiff, being a descendant of Ram Kumar, only had a 1/3rd share in the property, as Bal Govind, the original tenant, had no male heirs, and thus his widow and daughter retained rights. The Court affirmed that the revenue records accurately reflected the co-tenancy and dismissed the appeal of the heirs of the original plaintiff.
