Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the High Court's judgment on admission under Order 12 Rule 6 of the Civil Procedure Code was unjustified as the respondent's claim of admission regarding Rs.74,57,074.50 was incorrect and not supported by the minutes of the meeting dated 9.12.2000. The Court emphasized that the respondent failed to provide a valid basis for the admission and did not seek a separate application for any other admission. Consequently, the judgment on admission for Rs.47,06,775.70 was set aside, reaffirming the necessity for clear admissions in pleadings for such judgments to be valid.
