The Supreme Court upheld the decision of a Single Judge that employees temporarily appointed as Superintendents, Cooks, and Chowkidars in aided hostels are entitled to salaries equivalent to their counterparts in government hostels, as per the principles of equality and fair compensation. The Court emphasized the need for regularization of their services and quashed the government orders dated 28.12.1998 and 21.1.1999 that sought to terminate their employment. The Court directed the State Government to formulate a new scheme for regularization similar to previous schemes approved by the Rajasthan High Court.
