Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that Rule 24 of the Orissa Judicial Service Rules, 2007 mandates a minimum of 45% aggregate marks for eligibility to appear in the interview. The Court found that the High Court erred in rounding off the respondent's marks from 44.93% to 45%, as there is no provision for such rounding in the Rules. Consequently, the Supreme Court set aside the High Court's order, affirming that the respondent was not eligible for the interview based on her actual marks.
