Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court upheld the conviction of the appellants under Sections 419, 468, and 471 read with Section 34 of the IPC, confirming their guilt in the commission of fraud. However, considering that the appellants had already served 56 days of rigorous imprisonment, the Court decided to release them on the basis of the time already undergone, thereby modifying the sentence to that extent. The Court maintained the conviction while adjusting the sentence to reflect the period already served.
