Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court, in a suit under Article 131 of the Constitution, addressed the territorial dispute between the State of Orissa and the State of Andhra Pradesh regarding the Borra Group of villages. The Court held that the disputed area, although geographically located within Andhra Pradesh, was historically part of the Jeypore Estate and thus belonged to Orissa as per the Orissa Order, 1936. The Court declared that Andhra Pradesh's administration over the area constituted trespass and ordered it to vacate the disputed territory.
