Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court reiterated that the Master Plan for Delhi, as published on 01.08.1990, prohibits hazardous and noxious industries from operating within the city limits. The Court emphasized that existing such industries must be relocated within a maximum period of three years, as mandated by the Master Plan, and that the land vacated must be utilized for community needs or light industries. The Court held that the statutory provisions of the Master Plan are binding and must be adhered to by all stakeholders, including the Delhi Development Authority.
