The Supreme Court upheld the conviction of the appellants under Section 326 read with Section 34 IPC and Section 324 read with Section 34 IPC, but reduced their sentence to the time already served, citing precedents from Surendra Nath Mohanty & Anr. v. State of Orissa (1999) 5 SCC 238 and Bankat and Another v. State of Maharashtra (2005) 1 SCC 343. The Court ordered the appellants to pay a fine of Rs. 3,000 each, to be distributed among the injured parties, due to the compromise reached between the parties. The fine must be paid within three months, failing which the appeal will be dismissed.
