Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the legal heirs of Lalithamma are entitled to a declaration of ownership and possession of the suit property, as per the principles of inheritance under Hindu law. The Court found that upon the death of Puttathayamma, her children, including Lalithamma and defendant No.4, inherited the property as class one heirs. The Court reversed the High Court's decision, restoring the decree of the first appellate court in favor of the plaintiffs, thereby allowing their appeal.
