Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the High Court erred in setting aside the concurrent findings of fact by the Rent Controller and Appellate Authority regarding the eviction of a tenant under Section 10(3)(a)(i)(a) and Section 10(2)(i) of the A.P. Buildings (Lease, Rent and Eviction) Control Act, 1960. The Court affirmed that the tenant was not a willful defaulter in rent payment and that the landlady's claim of bonafide requirement was not substantiated. Consequently, the Supreme Court allowed the appeal, reinstating the lower courts' decisions against eviction.
