Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court set aside the impugned order passed by a Bench that did not hear Writ Appeal Nos. 343/1998, 344/1998, and Writ Petition Nos. 7417/2000, 7418/2000, as well as Writ Petition No. 6106 of 2000, due to the lack of opportunity for hearing. The Court emphasized that this procedural infirmity warranted the annulment of the order and remitted the cases back to the High Court for fresh consideration with an opportunity for all parties to be heard. The Court also directed that the hearing of the cases be expedited.
