The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's conviction of accused No.1 under Section 304 Part-II IPC and reduced his sentence to five years, while acquitting accused No.4 of Section 304 Part-I IPC but convicting him under Section 324 IPC with a six-month sentence. The Court also affirmed the High Court's reversal of acquittals for accused Nos.2, 3, 6, and 7 under Section 324 read with Section 149 IPC, sentencing them to six months each. The Court decided to reduce the sentences of accused Nos.2, 4, 6, and 7 to the time already served, contingent upon the payment of a fine of Rs.25,000 each.
