The Court emphasized that admissions must adhere to the established counselling process and that only students meeting the cut-off marks in the relevant entrance examinations are eligible for admission. The colleges were ordered to reduce their management quota for the subsequent academic years to offset the unauthorized admissions made in 2008-09.
