Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the Rajasthan High Court erred in acquitting the respondent under Sections 8/18 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, by failing to properly analyze the evidence regarding the integrity of the samples sent to the FSL. The Court emphasized that the intact seals upon arrival at the FSL were sufficient to uphold the Trial Court's conviction. Consequently, the Supreme Court set aside the High Court's order and restored the conviction and sentence imposed by the Trial Court.
