Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court granted interim bail to the appellant convicted under Sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471/465, and 477A IPC, as well as Section 13(2) read with Sections 13(1)(c)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, who had served nearly two years of a four-year sentence. The Court noted the lack of possibility for an early hearing of the appeal in the High Court and deemed it appropriate to release the appellant on bail, subject to conditions. The appeal was disposed of accordingly.
