Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the Bar Council of India erred in suspending the appellants for five years under Rule 22 of Chapter II of Part VI of the Bar Council of India Rules, as the allegations did not constitute a violation of the rule. The Court clarified that the appellants did not bid for or purchase any property sold in execution of a decree in which they were professionally engaged. Consequently, the Court set aside the Bar Council's order, allowing the appeal.
