Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court set aside the order of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, allowing the appellants to withdraw their special leave petition and pursue a Letters Patent Appeal (LPA) under the Madhya Pradesh Uchcha Nayayalaya (Khand Nyaypeeth Ko Appeal) Adhiniyam, 2005. The Court held that the recent enactment provides the High Court with the authority to entertain LPAs against orders of a Single Judge. The appellants were granted liberty to file the LPA, which the High Court must decide in accordance with law.
