Tayyab Ali & Anr vs State Of U.P.& Anr

The Supreme Court held that the cancellation of caste certificates by the Tehsildar without providing notice and an opportunity to be heard violated the principles of natural justice. The Court found that the High Court erred in dismissing the writ petition without addressing this violation. Consequently, the Supreme Court quashed the Tehsildar's order dated 30th March, 1999, while allowing the Tehsildar the opportunity to issue a fresh order after proper hearing.
