Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the findings of the Additional Revenue Divisional Officer and the Appellate Tribunal that the predecessor-in-interest of the appellants were protected tenants under The Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1950. The Court ruled that the respondents failed to provide sufficient evidence to substantiate their claim of ownership and possession, thus affirming the appellants' rights to ownership certificates under Section 38-E of the Act. The judgment of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which set aside these findings, was reversed, reinstating the lower tribunals' decisions.
