Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court set aside the orders dated 8.12.2006 and 19.12.2006 of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, holding that the High Court improperly directed the trial court to dispose of the matter without examining the merits of the challenge against the order permitting the examination of two defence witnesses. The Court emphasized that granting final relief at an interim stage was inappropriate, and directed the High Court to hear the Criminal Revision No.2026/2006 on its merits. Consequently, any adjudication by the trial court was nullified.
