Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the dismissal of the Writ Petition challenging the order dated 9th December 1997 by the Director General Health Services, which withdrew the Customs Duty Exemption Certificate for imported medical equipment. The Court found that the appellant failed to provide necessary information regarding the use of the equipment and the provision of free services to the poor, as mandated by the exemption notification. The Court concluded that the High Court's decision was justified and did not warrant interference under Article 226 of the Constitution.
