Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the plaintiffs, being minors at the time of the sale, were entitled to specific performance of the contract for reconveyance under Section 20 of the Specific Relief Act, 1963. The Court found that the defendant had acknowledged the payment of only Rs.10,000 as consideration, contrary to the Rs.25,000 stated in the sale deed, and thus the agreement for reconveyance was valid. The High Court's dismissal of the plaintiffs' suit was overturned, and the case was remanded for further proceedings to enforce the reconveyance agreement.
