Som Lal vs Vijay Laxmi & Ors

The Court clarified that the provisions of Section 11 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994 do not exempt him from disqualification as he was still considered to hold an office of profit. Consequently, the appeal was dismissed, affirming the Election Tribunal's ruling that Vijay Laxmi was duly elected as Sarpanch.
