Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court held that the Orissa High Court's interference with the Catering Policy of 2005 was unjustified as there was no evidence that the policy contravened statutory rules or constitutional provisions. The Court reaffirmed the principle that government policy decisions should not be routinely interfered with unless they are found to be contrary to law. Consequently, the Supreme Court set aside the High Court's order and allowed the appeals, maintaining the validity of the Catering Policy.
