The Supreme Court upheld the Delhi High Court's decision to restore the respondent's arms license, which had been canceled under Section 17(3) of the Arms Act, 1959, due to his prior involvement in criminal offenses. The Court noted that the respondent was acquitted of the charges under Sections 302 and 307 IPC, and thus, under Clause 7 of Section 17, the cancellation of the license became void. The Court emphasized that the pending appeal against the acquittal does not affect the validity of the acquittal itself, and therefore, the respondent was deemed fit to hold the license once again.
