Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court dismissed Civil Appeal No. 2374 of 2007 filed by Zee Turner Ltd. against TDSAT's decision, noting that the Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable Services) Interconnection (Fourth Amendment) Regulation, 2007 mandates broadcasters to offer channels on an a-la-carte basis. The Court held that this new regulation rendered the appeal moot as both parties must now comply with the updated regulatory framework. Consequently, Civil Appeal No. 5038 of 2007 was also disposed of as it was dependent on the outcome of the first appeal.
