Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals challenging the qualifications prescribed for the post of Cashier-cum-Clerk in the District Co-operative Societies, holding that the advertisement's requirement of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com with HDC or JDC or C.Com was not discriminatory compared to the service rules which required S.S.L.C. with J.D.C. and three years experience. The Court found no merit in the contention that the higher qualifications were unjustified, affirming the validity of the advertisement. Consequently, the appeals were dismissed as lacking substance.
