Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court disposed of Civil Appeal No. 2374 of 2007 filed by Zee Turner Ltd. against Tata Sky Ltd., holding that the introduction of the Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable Services) Interconnection (Fourth Amendment) Regulation, 2007 rendered the appeal moot. The Court noted that the new regulations require broadcasters to offer channels on an a-la-carte basis, thus necessitating a new arrangement between the parties. Consequently, both Civil Appeal No. 2374 of 2007 and Civil Appeal No. 5038 of 2007 were dismissed with no order as to costs.
