SASWATI PARIDA vs ROHIT PARIDA

The Supreme Court granted the transfer of Hindu Marriage Petition No.677 of 2006 from Tis Hazari, Delhi to the Family Court at Mumbai, following a successful mediation where the parties agreed to dissolve their marriage by mutual consent. The court held that the terms of the settlement included the husband paying Rs.30,00,000 to the wife, and also quashed the related criminal proceedings pending in Kolkata. The Family Court was directed to proceed with the divorce petition in accordance with the settlement terms.
