Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the removal of a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) from service for physically assaulting the Principal was justified under the principles of discipline and conduct expected from educators. The Court emphasized that a teacher must serve as a role model and that such misconduct renders the individual unfit for the profession. Consequently, the Court set aside the decisions of the Central Administrative Tribunal and the Rajasthan High Court, restoring the order of removal from service dated 1.5.2000.
