Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court set aside the order of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission which had foreclosed the appellant's argument regarding liability to pay compensation, as the issue was still open for consideration. The Court held that the Commission should not limit the scope of the revision petition to only the easy monthly instalments and rate of interest. The matter was remitted to the National Commission for a comprehensive hearing along with other pending revisions, to be resolved within six months.
