Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court upheld the Delhi High Court's decision that contractual employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, who had worked as Ayurvedic Vaids, were entitled to age relaxation for UPSC recruitment based on their years of service. The Court affirmed that those who had crossed the age limit of 35 years should receive age relaxation corresponding to their contractual service duration. Furthermore, it was held that these employees should not be replaced by new appointees until the regular selection process was completed, thereby ensuring their continued employment rights.
