Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the High Court erred in cancelling the bail of the accused-appellants without the State moving an application for cancellation or filing a revision. Citing Raghubir Singh and Others vs. State of Bihar, (1986) 4 SCC 481, the Court reiterated that bail can only be cancelled under specific circumstances such as misuse of liberty or interference with the investigation. The Court set aside the High Court's order and granted bail to the accused-appellants, subject to conditions, while allowing the State to seek cancellation in the future if warranted.
