Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's decision that employees of the Bank who opted for voluntary retirement are entitled to all retirement benefits, including Leave Travel Concession, as per Regulation 44(1) of the Punjab & Sind Bank Officers Service Regulations, 1982. The Court clarified that the denial of benefits based on a Circular dated 28.11.2000 was not valid, affirming the applicability of the regulations and the VRS Scheme, 2000. Consequently, the special leave petition under Article 136 was dismissed, affirming the High Court's ruling.
