Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court set aside the Bombay High Court's order which partly allowed a writ petition challenging the appointment of Anganwadi Sevika. The Court held that the appointment of the appellant was valid as it was based on the highest marks obtained in the interview conducted in 2003, despite the respondent securing higher marks in a subsequent interview for a different post. The Court emphasized that the appointment was for an additional Anganwadi Centre and reinstated the appellant's services, thereby allowing the appeal.
