Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court's order which allowed the writ appeal of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. The Court held that an employee reinstated after unauthorized absence cannot claim notional increments unless specifically directed. This principle was established in A.P.S.R.T.C. v. S. Narsagoud (2003 (2) SCC 212) and reiterated in A.P. State Road Transport Corporation v. Abdul Kareem (2005 (6) SCC 36).
