Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the bifurcation of the appellant-Corporation's regions necessitated the maintenance of separate seniority lists for employees, thereby affirming that the respondents, who opted for the Warangal region, could not claim seniority over a junior who was promoted in the Karimnagar region. The Court found that the Division Bench of the High Court erred in directing the Corporation to consider the respondents for promotion, as their seniority was not applicable in the newly created region. Consequently, the impugned judgment was set aside and the appeal was allowed, with no order as to costs.
