Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the detention order under Section 3(2) of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982, affirming that the detenu's activities were prejudicial to public order. The Court found that the detaining authority had considered all representations, including the one dated 25.9.2005, before approving the detention. The Court concluded that the High Court's dismissal of the habeas corpus petition was justified, thereby maintaining the legality of the detention order.
