Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court held that the termination of the respondent's services by the appellant Corporation was not in compliance with the mandatory requirements of Section 25F of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. However, considering the long delay in raising the dispute and the temporary nature of the respondent's employment, the Court ruled against reinstatement and instead directed the appellant to pay Rs. 50,000 as compensation. The Court emphasized that the Labour Court and High Court failed to consider relevant factors, including the respondent's temporary appointment and the significant time elapsed since termination.
