Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the disciplinary action taken against the appellant, Sh. Suresh Pathrella, under Regulation 3(1) of the Oriental Bank of Commerce Officer Employees (Conduct) Regulations, 1982, for misappropriating Rs. 10 lakhs belonging to a customer without authority. The Court affirmed the findings of the Enquiry Officer and the disciplinary authority, which had concluded that the charges were substantiated. Consequently, the Court dismissed the appeals challenging the High Court's order that had set aside the Single Judge's decision favoring the appellant.
