Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Karnataka High Court affirming the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal's ruling that the respondent possessed qualifications equivalent to the Teacher Training Certificate (TCH) as per the Government of Karnataka's order dated 24/26th August, 1974. The Court found that the qualifications held by the respondent, including the Hindi Shikshana Praveen Pariksha, were sufficient for appointment as a primary school teacher. The appeal was dismissed, confirming the Tribunal's interpretation of the qualifications required under Section 19 of the Administrative Tribunal's Act, 1985.
