Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court addressed the eligibility criteria for candidates appearing in the Centralised Entrance Test for Medical Super Specialities under Rule 7.12, which mandates possession of a recognized postgraduate degree and completion of three years of training in the relevant specialty. The Court held that the respondents were not eligible to sit for the examination as they would complete their training only by 30th June 2006, after the examination date. Consequently, the High Court's order permitting them to sit for the examination was set aside.
