The Supreme Court upheld the Guwahati High Court's dismissal of a writ petition challenging the Central Administrative Tribunal's decision regarding benefits under the Memorandum dated 25.2.1999. The Court found that the benefits were intended only for employees currently in service at the time of the Memorandum's issuance, as per Section 11 of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990. The Court concluded that since the respondent had taken voluntary retirement before the Corporation's establishment, he was not entitled to the claimed benefits.
