Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the Rajasthan High Court erred in quashing the FIR registered by the CBI under Sections 120B, 167, 168, 177A IPC and Sections 13(2), 13(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Court clarified that the consent of the State Government under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946 was still valid and that the High Court's interpretation of the necessity for individual notifications for officers was incorrect. The appeal was allowed, reinstating the FIR and affirming the CBI's jurisdiction.
