The Court found that the High Court erred in its judgment by not recognizing the fraudulent nature of the respondent's surrender of land that had already been acquired under the Land Acquisition Act, 1898. Consequently, the Supreme Court set aside the High Court's order and reinstated the Tribunal's power to address the fraudulent act.
