Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision to fix the cut-off date for pensionary benefits for absorbed government servants in State Road Transport Corporations as 1.4.1982, modifying the earlier dates set by the Government. The Court confirmed that pension benefits would be applicable only to those who completed ten years of service by this date, and directed that arrears of pension be paid from 1.1.1988. The review petition filed by the Government was dismissed, affirming the original judgment without rehearing arguments on merits.
