Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Central Administrative Tribunal and the High Court, confirming the compulsory retirement of the appellant under the Railway Services Conduct Rules, 1966. The Court found that the appellant had committed misconduct by leaking official documents, which violated Rule 31(i), (ii), and (iii) of the said Rules. The Court held that the disciplinary action taken was justified given the admission of guilt by the appellant in his memo dated 16.03.1996.
