The Court ruled that the notification reducing the age of superannuation to 58 years was invalid as it contravened the earlier agreement and the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Relations Act, 1960. The Court upheld the High Court's decision to quash the impugned notification, thereby maintaining the age of retirement at 60 years.
