Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the dismissal of Ansuya Parshad, a deceased employee of the Central Reserve Police Force, was valid as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) had the authority to dismiss him without prior approval from the Inspector General (IG), contrary to the appellant's claim under Rule 27 of the Central Reserve Police Force Rules, 1955. The Court found that the DIG was superior to the Commandant, who was the appointing authority, thus upholding the dismissal. The appeal was dismissed, affirming the Division Bench's interpretation of the Rules.
